I'm a freelancer who ran a (now discontinued) blog called World of Crap. In autumn 2006, just after the alleged terrorist plot to blow up loads of trans-Atlantic airliners was revealed and airport security cranked up, I exposed the "myth" of post 9/11 security. I did it again in 2007. I took photos chronicling just how easy it was for me to get potentially lethal weapons on board packed airplanes. In one instance, I hadn't even needed to smuggle anything through security, merely purchase my "weapon" from the airport's duty-free shop. I offered the story and photos to all the major UK nationals. Not one was interested.
